Asian Studies Development Program
Middlesex Community College is part of an initiative that promotes Asian Studies in the United States and Asia. This initiative is sponsored by the Asian Studies Development Program (ASDP), which is based at the East-West Center (EWC) and the University of Hawaii, Honolulu. The EWC's mission is to infuse Asian content and perspectives into the undergraduate core curriculum at American two- and four-year colleges and universities The ASDP network now includes more than 400 institutions in 49 states, with 20 schools designated as regional centers.
As the first institution to become an ASDP regional center, Middlesex Community College has been involved for more than two decades in the development of Asian Studies initiatives. Middlesex and ASDP continue to collaborate in organizing ASDP workshops and conferences, and through this partnership strongly promote and support international education locally and nationally.
