Do I have to attend Orientation?

Yes, all new degree-seeking students taking classes during the day in the fall are required to attend Orientation.

Can I register for classes before Orientation?

Yes. All students must register during a new student registration session. Once registered, you will be assigned a day and campus for your orientation. Click here for information about registration.

Why is my Orientation on a different campus?

Orientation assignments are based on the major program of study so that students can meet and get to know each other. In some cases, this means you may travel to a campus you are not familiar with. This is a great way to learn more about our campuses and all of the things they have to offer!

What will I do in Orientation?

During Orientation, you will be provided valuable information about Middlesex Community College so you can succeed from day one. You will be introduced to college resources, culture, and polices. You will also learn about your major or program of study and meet your professors. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to meet other students.

Can I bring a friend or family member?

No, guests are typically not permitted in Orientation. However we do have a night dedicated to answering parent and family questions at our Parent & Family Nights. Click here for more details.

Can I go to Orientation with my friend who is also going to MCC?

Students must attend the Orientation session they were assigned to. This is a great way to meet new friends and connect with students, faculty, and staff from your major!

Why is Orientation so long?

During Orientation you will be introduced to college resources, culture, and polices. You will also learn about your major or program of study. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to meet your faculty members, staff, and other students. MCC truly believes that Orientation is essential to starting your college career correctly!

How long is Orientation on campus?

Orientation goes from 8:00am to 2:00pm. Some students will be invited to special receptions in the afternoon based on their cohorts.

Will there be food provided during orientation?

Yes! We will be providing a light snack and lunch for you to enjoy!

What should I wear to Orientation?

Please wear clothing comfortable for light outdoor activity and sitting in your various orientation sessions throughout the day.

I cannot make my scheduled Orientation, can I reschedule?

Orientation cannot be rescheduled. If you cannot make your scheduled date, you will be contacted about a make-up option. You will likely receive texts and e-mails about your orientation date going forward as they are sent to all students throughout the summer. You’ll want to continue to read these as they will contain other important details about the upcoming year at MCC!

My financial aid, residency, or transcripts are not up to date/on file, how can I take care of this?

Our offices are open throughout the summer semester, you can also stop by either campus for further assistance.
