MCC Scholarships

  • MCC Foundation Scholarships are also available for students planning to studying abroad. One of these scholarships, the Ray Shea Memorial Scholarship supports one Middlesex Community College student to participate in an international study experience – a short summer course abroad or a semester abroad - through MCC’s International Fellowship programs or other MCC approved study-abroad opportunities.

  • The MCC International Fellowship Program is a scholarship-based program.  Visit the Fellowships web page for more information.
External Scholarships

  • The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program offers grants between $2,500-$5,000 for U.S. citizen undergraduate students of limited financial means to pursue academic studies or credit-bearing, career-oriented internships abroad.  Award recipients are chosen by a competitive selection process and must use the award to defray eligible study or intern abroad costs. These costs include program tuition, room and board, books, local transportation, insurance and international airfare. $8,000 scholarships are available for students studying specific languages.
  • The Fund For Education Abroad offers scholarships and support to students who are underrepresented among the U.S. study abroad population such as minorities, community college, and first-generation students. Scholarship amounts average around $1,250 for a short program, $5,000 for a semester abroad, and can go up to $10,000 for a full academic year.
If you are interested in applying for any of these external scholarships, it is recommended that you schedule a time to meet with MCC International Study Abroad Coordinator Katie Reynolds, reynoldsk@middlesex.mass.edu, 978-656-3254.
