Syeda Ferdous A. Begum is a STEM Professor of Information Technology in Cybersecurity. She received her BS in Physics, Chemistry, and Math from Dhaka University, Bachelor of Software Engineering and Masters of Business and Communication, and from the Swinburne University of Technology. Prior to joining the MCC faculty in 2012, she taught at Wentworth Institute of technology and Bunker Hill Community College. Her areas of interest include science technology applications, programming, and electronics. 

Professor Begum is a long-standing member of MCC's Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, and the Association of American Colleges and Universities, where she works to implement effective teaching strategies built around collaboration between faculty and students. She is committed to outreach for BIPOC, URM, and women in STEM, while creating a supportive space for students to succeed in a way that can translate from the classroom to the workplace.
