Stacie Hargis is a Professor in the business department at Middlesex Community College in Lowell and Bedford, Massachusetts. She is also the Entrepreneurship Program Coordinator and runs the IDEA Center at the college. Prior to moving to New England in 2005, Stacie was a freelance graphic designer and art director at a design firm based out of West Palm Beach, Florida. After graduating from the Women in Politics and Public Policy graduate certificate program at UMass Boston, she went on to earn a master's degree from UMass Lowell in Regional Economic and Social Development. Directly after graduation, she begin work in Congresswoman Niki Tsongas' district office to focus on small business and economic development issues. Three years later, Stacie went on to become the Director of Community Teamwork's Small Business Center. There she worked to promote small business education and grew a microloan fund to support business growth in the community.
She is an active member of the Lowell community and currently serves as a board member on the Lowell Development and Financial Corporation. Stacie attended Broward Community College before receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Florida Atlantic University, and has a certificate in Non-Profit Management from the Non-Profit Management Institute at Boston University. Stacie enjoys hiking and traveling.
