TRIO: Student Success Program
The TRIO Student Success Program at Middlesex Community College serves 200 low income and first generation college students and individuals with disabilities.
You are eligible if:
- You are a first generation college student (neither one of your parents earned a Bachelor's degree)
- You meet income eligibility guidelines
- You have a documented disability (registered at MCC Student Access and Support Services)
- You are enrolled in an MCC degree program
Services are available to students to support their educational experience at Middlesex Community College. Academic support is provided and includes regular and drop-in appointments with tutors, TRIO advisors, and an Academic Services Specialist. An application is available for students interested in the program.
Our services include:
Academic Advising - We assist students with course selection and academic planning.
Career Planning and Assessment - We assist students with career decision-making
Tutoring - We offer tutoring in math and English for our students.
Study and self-improvement workshops - Various workshops are offered each semester including study skills, time management, writing college papers, researching.
Financial Aid Assistance and Advising - We assist with the financial aid process
Personal Advising - Each of our students receive individual advising tailored to their academic and personal needs.
Transfer Assistance and College Information - We meet with students individually and in groups to plan for transferring to a four-year college and offer many college visits throughout the year .
