Nesmith House

The John Nesmith House
John Nesmith House

Built in 1843 for John and Harriet Nesmith, the 22-room Greek Revival/Regency mansion was a center for the family’s social and cultural affairs until 1939.Today, Nesmith House is owned by the Middlesex Community College Foundation, featuring period furnishings and a full professional kitchen.


Amenities:

  • Accommodates 48 to 100 guests, depending upon event type
  • Staff person on-hand to assist as needed
  • China, silverware, tables and chairs
  • Linens available, with cleaning fee
  • Parking for 15 cars on grounds with additional parking available by request

House Requirements:

  • Food and liquor must be arranged using an approved vendor
  • All luncheons, dinners and receptions require at least one waitstaff for serving and cleaning
  • No use of paper or plasticware allowed
  • Limitations regarding children at events
  • We cannot accommodate multimedia presentations
  • Nothing should be taped or hung on the walls
  • Furnishings may not be moved
  • Smoking of any kind is not permitted, including vaping
  • Parking is allowed only on the right of the front driveway.
  • Parking attendant is required for any event with groups of 15 or more
  • You are responsible for any damages incurred to the property

  • A deposit is required to secure your date
  • There is an additional charge for linen laundering

Federal Building

The Federal Building

Located across from MCC's Cowan Center, the Federal Building houses the Lowell campus library, classrooms, a stunning visual arts room and the Community Assembly Room.
