The John Nesmith House
John Nesmith House
229 Andover Street
Lowell, Mass.
Built in 1843 for John and Harriet Nesmith, the 22-room Greek Revival/Regency mansion was a center for the family’s social and cultural affairs until 1939.Today, Nesmith House is owned by the Middlesex Community College Foundation, featuring period furnishings and a full professional kitchen.
Amenities:
- Accommodates 48 to 100 guests, depending upon event type
- Staff person on-hand to assist as needed
- China, silverware, tables and chairs
- Linens available, with cleaning fee
- Parking for 15 cars on grounds with additional parking available by request
House Requirements:
- Food and liquor must be arranged using an approved vendor
- All luncheons, dinners and receptions require at least one waitstaff for serving and cleaning
- No use of paper or plasticware allowed
- Limitations regarding children at events
- We cannot accommodate multimedia presentations
- Nothing should be taped or hung on the walls
- Furnishings may not be moved
- Smoking of any kind is not permitted, including vaping
- Parking is allowed only on the right of the front driveway.
- Parking attendant is required for any event with groups of 15 or more
- You are responsible for any damages incurred to the property

The Federal Building

Located across from MCC's Cowan Center, the Federal Building houses the Lowell campus
library, classrooms, a stunning visual arts room and the Community Assembly Room.
