National Hispanic, Latinx/é Heritage Month 

is a yearly celebration in the U.S. occurring from September 15 to October 15. Join the Multicultural Center at MCC in celebrating the diverse history, cultures, contributions and accomplishments of Hispanic Americans, Latinos, Latinas, and Latinx/é -identifying individuals.

Sept 12 - Sancocho & Stories: Latino Men in Higher Ed

Latino male representation rates in college is nationally low in comparison to their female counterparts. Join this special occasion to meet with the Latino men of MCC, including staff, faculty and student leaders. And help yourselves to a warm sampling of sancocho, a common stew consumed by many Latin cultures across the world, while you listen to the unique stories on our panel.

Oct 4 & 5 - El Encuentro Film Festival

El Encuentro: The Latino Film Experience
Tickets available at the door. You’re invited to celebrate the vibrant world of Latino storytelling through film during Hispanic Heritage Month. Join us on Friday, October 4th and Saturday, October 5th, 2024, at the Richard and Nancy Donahue Theater at Middlesex Community College in downtown Lowell, MA at 7:00pm. This in-person two day festival is a dynamic showcase of both emerging and established Latino voices, blending creativity with culture.

In continuation of celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, MCC’s student club, LatinX Force is hosting A LatinX Homecoming. Join the club in welcoming students back to the school year through music, dancing and food. Formal attire encouraged but not necessary.
