MCC Withdrawal Policies

Withdrawing from a course is a big decision. Make sure you have all the information you need before contacting the Student Information Center for assistance.

The steps to withdraw and the impact of withdrawing differs between credit and no-credit classes. Choose the policy below that fits your current situation.

Students wishing to withdraw from course(s) have the responsibility to initiate the process as faculty cannot issue withdrawals.  Notifying the instructor or ceasing to attend class does NOT constitute official withdrawal. Failure to officially withdraw may result in an “F” grade.

Any withdrawal may affect academic progress and may also have financial aid or other monetary implications. Veterans and International students are strongly encouraged to meet with their program certifying official before withdrawing to fully understand the financial implications of this process.

We've developed a list of frequently asked questions and answers as a resource.  Please contact if you have any additional questions or concerns.
