Student Government Association

The Student Government Association (SGA) represents our student voice. SGA promotes cooperation and collaboration among students, faculty and administration of MCC. In collaboration with the Office of Student Engagement (OSE), we sponsor student efforts to plan and promote programs and events for MCC that offer social, cultural, educational and recreational opportunities.

• Represent the interests and opinions of students
• Increase student decision-making power
• Ensure fiscal responsibility
• Create and promote student leadership opportunities
• Support students and student organizations
• Communicate Federal and Massachusetts laws affecting students
• Petition, lobby and support groups that defend student rights
• Serve as ambassadors of MCC at college events
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with MCC staff and community members
• Encourage responsibility, self discipline, good citizenship and foster unity
• Build self confidence, independence and leadership skills of all its members
