- The Middlesex Community College Intensive English Institute is accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation for the period April 2022 through April 2026 and agrees to uphold the CEA Standards for English Language Programs and Institutions. Intensive English Institute
The Intensive English Institute (IEI) is for English Language Learners who are preparing to attend colleges and universities in the United States. We will help YOU become an academically successful and culturally informed student.
You will:
- Learn strategies for academic success
- Develop self-confidence
- Achieve your goals
The IEI will help you improve your English for college, job applications, conversational proficiency, and presentation skills. To further assist you, your instructor will meet with you in one to one conferences.
You will also strengthen your skills in:
- Reading
- Writing
- Grammar
- Speaking and listening
During the fall and spring semesters, you will complete coursework and receive lectures 18 hours per week. All classes are in-person and on-campus and last for 15 weeks.
There are two levels of learning:
Classes start Tuesday, September 3!
Register by Wednesday, August 20.
These courses are not for college credit.

Mission: MCC's Intensive English Institute provides rigorous English instruction and cultural training necessary for success in higher education in the United States. Placement into either high-intermediate or advanced courses to be determined by a face-to-face English language evaluation involving listening and speaking and reading and writing.
