Theatre at Middlesex Community College
The MCC Theater Department prepares students to transfer to a college, university or conservatory. Most students in the Theater Program continue their studies toward a bachelor’s degree in performance, production, administration or education. All students are introduced to the interdisciplinary nature of the theater and all components of the theater industry, including acting, theater history, playwriting, design, musical theater, technical theater, and theater management. Programs feature a strong focus on experiential learning, and current industry methods and technologies.
Lively rehearsals and productions are an essential part of the MCC Theater experience. On-stage and behind- the-scenes skills are acquired in the classroom and applied in full-scale theatrical productions with the MCC Theater Department, which is modeled after a professional theater company and located in a newly renovated and modernized facility.
