What is Educational Talent Search?
Educational Talent Search is a student support program funded by the US Department
of Education designed to promote school completion and higher education among low-income,
first generation families and other college bound students. Each fiscal year the
program serves 714 students in grades 6-12 attending Lowell High School, Stoklosa,
and Butler Middle Schools.
Services
The program offers the following services:
- Academic Advising
- College Early Awareness
- Course Selection Assistance
- 8th & 9th Grade High School Transition Component
- Parent/Family Outreach
- Career Awareness
- College Tours
- Community Service Opportunities
- Report Card Assessment
- Student Advocacy
- Assistance with the College Process, including SAT registration, college essay and resume writing, college application and financial aid/scholarships application.
- Academic and summer enrichment programs
Who's Eligible to apply?
- Students must be US Citizens or Permanent Residents with valid I.D. Card from US Immigration Department
- Must be attending Lowell High School, Butler, or Stoklosa Middle Schools
- Must be a college bound student in good academic standing
