What is UBMS?

Upward Bound Math & Science Program is the new addition to our successful TRiO programs at Middlesex Community College. The primary objective for this federally funded program is to help students recognize and develop their potential to excel in math and science, and to assist students in preparing for a post-secondary education in fields of math and science.  The program serves students in grades 9-12 currently attending Lowell High School.

In addition to school year services and Saturday Academies, the primary portion of the program consists of a six-week summer program. During this portion, the students will attend classes at Middlesex Community College and participate in a wide variety of activities, including academic and recreational/cultural activities. The academic schedule includes classes taught by high school and college instructors in the standard core. The program provides a positive learning atmosphere and personal interactions between teachers and students.
