Academic Map

Earning your degree?

We make it easier to keep you on track to reach your goals!

Our Academic Maps provide a clear semester-by-semester breakdown of the curriculum required to complete a major program of study. Each map identifies milestone courses that must be completed by a certain semester in order to progress through the program and graduate on time.

Academic Maps:

  • Encourage you to take 15 credits each semester
  • Adapt to the needs of part-time students
  • Help you clearly understand what classes you need to take
  • Define what your individual path should be
  • Offer a "Career and Transfer Outlook" section for each degree program
  • Notes on when you should contact an advisor

The maps include helpful hints:

  1. Reminders that some courses are only offered in the spring or fall semesters, not both
  2. Consider taking a class in the summer to get ahead.

DegreeWorks

Use DegreeWorks to ensure selected courses fit within the degree audit. While Academic Maps play an important role in planning, registered courses must fit into the audit to ensure timely degree completion and eligibility for financial assistance programs

Access DegreeWorks by logging into MyMCC and clicking on "My Degree Audit".

Free Elective

Work with your academic advisor to select appropriate, college-level "Free Electives" courses that support your goals or personal interests to complete this requirement.
