MCC Foundation Scholarships

Looking for assistance in paying for college?

The Middlesex Community College Foundation (MCCF) offers a variety of scholarships to support currently enrolled MCC students.

Scholarships are based on:

  • Academic performance
  • Specific program/major requirements
  • City/town of residence
  • Community involvement
  • Interest in Study-Abroad
  • Financial need

Please note –

  • The scholarship system will apply you for as many awards as you are eligible based on scholarship criteria. Most awards require a 3.0 GPA and you must have completed nine credits at MCC by the close of the application.
  • A few awards require additional information to apply.  These will be clearly noted on your application Dashboard. Pay close attention to your Application Dashboard.
  • You may save your application and go back to it anytime during the open application period using your ID and password. You must complete and submit it by the deadline to be eligible for awards.
  • All applicants will receive notification in June* via MCC student email whether or not they have received an award.

When can I apply?

  • The scholarship application cycle for Fall semester starts in early March and the deadline to apply is mid-April.*
  • Enrolled MCC students may apply via the AwardSpring online application using student A # and password.
  • You can apply every year.
  • The application cannot be accessed until the open application date.

If the award requires a letter of recommendation, how do I request this?

  • Ask a current or past MCC faculty member or advisor to write a recommendation on your behalf. We do not accept references from family members or classmates.
  • Pay attention to scholarship deadlines, and be sure to give the person writing your recommendation plenty of time to complete it.
  • Be aware that some faculty and staff may be approached by more than one student to write this type of recommendation. Be respectful and appreciative of your reference’s time.
  • Enter the name and email address of the person writing your recommendation into your application. The faculty or staff member will receive an email with a link to upload the recommendation directly to your application.
  • It is your responsibility to follow up with the faculty recommender to confirm the recommendation has been uploaded to your file.

Information for Scholarship Award Winners

  • You will receive an offer letter at your student MCC email address with instructions on how to accept your award.
  • Once all the requirements have been met, your award will be applied to your MCC student account.
  • MCCF Scholarships are applied prior to any Federal or State Financial Aid, or MassReconnect funds.

Award recipients are required to:

  • Accept the Scholarship Award Acceptance Policy, which states:
  • “To receive this scholarship, you must be an enrolled student at MCC and in good standing. Please note, that all applications will be reviewed by the Financial Aid, Student Accounts, and Student Affairs offices for verification. Once all applications are verified, awards will be sent directly to your MCC Student Account.”
  • Read and agree to the MCC Media/Photography Policy.
  • Write a thank you letter to the scholarship donor.
  • Attend the award ceremony.
  • Upload a headshot photo which will be included in the award ceremony PowerPoint presentation.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

  • Receiving Financial Aid does NOT prevent you from applying for a scholarship.
  • All eligible MCC students can apply for scholarships.
  • Some need-based scholarships do require you to have applied for financial aid and completed a FAFSA form.
  • The MCCF Scholarship Review Committee makes sure that scholarship awards do not interfere with any student aid packages.

Should I fill out a FAFSA?

  • Yes, filling out a FAFSA helps determine eligibility for awards that require you to demonstrate financial need. Visit MCC's Office of Financial Aid for more information and to complete your FASFA form.
