The Presidential Office
Vintage photo donated by the
Waite family of the farmhouse
still standing on the Bedford
campus. In the late 1800s, Irving
Charles Waite lived in the house
& managed the property when it
was a "gentleman's farm."
A Legacy of Memories
Received in 2003 as a gift from the Moscow State
Pedagogical University (MSPU), the bulava, or a
mace, with its long staff and multi-faceted
head, was both a weapon and
a symbol of the mark of a
high ranking officer.
The matryoshka doll, also known
as the Russian nesting dolls,
which stack one inside the
other, were also a gift from the
cross-cultural program with
the MSPU in the 1990s.
