Welcome to the Technology Center's guide for current students! As a member of the MCC community, you have access to a number of digital services designed to enhance your academic life.Every MCC student is provided with a free Web-based Office 365 from Microsoft email account 24-48 hours after their first registration.Your MCC student e-mail address is an official means of communication with the college. Communications from Middlesex professors and campus offices to students will be sent to your MCC e-mail address. Your MCC e-mail address will also be the one instructors use in Blackboard. MCC Mobile, Middlesex Community College's FREE app – for Apple, Android, iPad & Android tablets – delivers important online college news and information anytime, anywhere. BLACKBOARD
Blackboard is a Web-based classroom management system used for assignments, grades and announcements in both online classes, hybrid class, and face-to-face classes. To open Blackboard, login to the My MCC web portal, then click the Blackboard link under My Launchpad. More about Blackboard.
BANNER SELF-SERVICE
Banner Self-Service is the place for tuition payments, class schedules, financial aid, and student information. Get your grades and register for courses here, too. Access these services through the My MCC web portal under the My Student Records area.
WIRELESS NETWORK
MCC provides wireless access for your laptops and mobile devices in every building on campus.
Wireless network service is available in all buildings and many green spaces. To connect your Windows system, ensure that your wireless radio is on and click "View Wireless Networks" (either from the wireless icon in the system tray or the control panel, under Network Connections/Wireless Network Connections). SERVICE DESK
The Service Desk offers 24/7 support to students by phone at (978) 656-3301, by e-mail at servicedesk@middlesex.mass.edu, and on the IT Self-Service Support portal with live online chat. On-site support hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 am - 4:00 p.m during the semester. There is also Walk-In Service Centers available at the Lowell Campus Cowan Center Building, 4th Floor, Room 402, and in Bedford Academic Resources Building, Room 203 with limited weekday hours during the semester. Student Software Discounts: Microsoft offers significant cost savings for students who wish to purchase the full version of Office or Windows. More about Student Software Discounts...
COMPUTER LABS
There are open computer labs on campus for student use that include both Mac and PC computers and printing capability. Also, students can access a virtual computer on or off campus using the Academic Virtual Desktop app. To access the Academic Virtual Desktop, log on to the My MCC portal and click the link for "Academic Virtual Desktop" in the My Launchpad area. COLLEGE ALERTS
In the event of inclement weather or a campus emergency, you can access campus-closing, delayed opening, and other important campus information via the college website and social media sites. These alerts are also viewable from the MCC Mobile App. You can also sign-up to have text messages sent to your cell phone.
