The cannabis industry is growing field with retail positions being in high demand
for both the medical and adult use markets. This course was created with job acquisition
in mind. MCC’s Cannabis Retail Certificate (noncredit) addresses the real world demands
and core knowledge that retail positions require. Students will develop fundamental
skills with an understand of what is required to work in a customer facing position
in the Massachusetts cannabis industry. Training will include the state certified
Core Curriculum training & exam which is a Cannabis Control Commission requirement
for those working in the industry. Taught be a state certified Responsible Vendor
Trainer. The final course exam is the state required Core Curriculum exam that is
required by the Cannabis Control Commission. Core Curriculum certificates are valid
for one year. Not eligible for waivers.
Pre-req: Must be 21+ to attend and eligible to work in the United States. $500. Instructor: BROWN
No class July 2. Enroll by May 22.

- Knowledgeable on MA compliance and best safety practices
- Effectively consulting with a patient or adult-use customers
- Diversion prevention, seed to sale tracking and cash handling
- Articulating the difference between cannabis and cannabis products
- Understanding the effects of cannabis and cannabis products on the human body
- Basics of extraction, packing and labeling, cash handling, refusing sale

New - Cooking with Cannabis
This class is a beginner’s guide to making cannabis infused foods or beverages using
different carrier oils such as vegetable base glycerin, coconut oil, butter and more!
We will focus on milligram dosage, creating infused products that are not alluring
to children along with the importance of labeling and storage. Pre-req: Must be
21+ to attend. Demonstration only via Zoom. Taught by a Responsible Vendor Trainer,
Green Path Training. Cannabis recipes include: Hard Candy Demo, Brownie Demo and
Gummies. Not eligible for waivers. $90
