New Employee Checklist: Part-Time Faculty
Getting Started; Pre-arrival
- Applicant is interviewed by the department chair and the dean or assistant dean of the area
- Hired by department chair
- Receive packet from department chair or administrative assistant, which includes:
- Payroll Calendar
- Union Contract with information,forms and deadlines
- I9 form
- Direct deposit form
- The new hire process is contained within the Interview Exchange system
- Once all set is set up, administrative assistant emails the employee, copying the department chair and Deb Botker, Adjunct Faculty Liaison
- Deb Botker emails the new employee to welcome him/her that provides link to Adjunct
Junction and includes key information:
- Parking (getting a parking sticker)
- Maps
- Cancelling Classes
- Making copies
- Ordering textbooks
- Middlenet
- Blackboard
- Mobile Alert Information
- Library Card
- Professional Wellness
- Employee ID Information and Self-Service
- Attend New Employee Orientation
- Department chair arranges for meeting with new faculty member to provide sample syllabi, textbook information, and to give the faculty member a tour
- Department chair emails department with information regarding new hire – to welcome him/her to the community
